IC Information
Character Name: Chromia
Character Canon: Transformers IDW
Character Age: Millions of years old. At least four million.
Character Gender: Identifies female
Canon Point: Post Windblade #1
Character Canon History: Chromia on the TF Wiki
Character Personality:
To sum Chromia up in one word: tough. This is one girl you do not want to cross if you're on opposing sides. She's strong, hard-headed, and isn't afraid to tell you what's on her mind. There's a reason she's Windblade's personal bodyguard--she can hold her own in and out of the battlefield. She's a very 'act first, think later' type of bot, which can definitely be a downfall in some aspects. But her spark's in the right place, and to Windblade and their friends, that's really all that matters.

Chromia tends to value loyalty above all else. Her utmost loyalty is to Windblade, and that in itself is something she can't break. When Chromia becomes fond of someone, she'll protect them with everything she can. She puts her charges above all else, even in a crisis before running to help. When a bombing hit just where Windblade was, Chromia rushed to her aid and made sure she was the one brought to safety before tending to the others. Because she was there to protect Windblade. They're her mission--and more importantly, they're usually close to her beyond the job aspect. She's unshakable once she's trusted you, and if you can manage that, you'll have an irreplacable friend.

Speaking of, you do NOT want to get this girl angry. She's well trained, has a short fuse, and if you look at Windblade the wrong way she might just sock a fist to your face. Or try to. She'd definitely try. She's very vocal about her anger, resorting to name calling, sharp remarks, and even threats. And worst of all, she has the muscle to back it up. She's also very short on warning signs, so you'll have to learn to spot when she's starting to get fed up with whatever it is you're doing. It can result in a spar, or on a lesser scale, threatening. She may or may not have put her poleaxe through a door to get the point across.

She's not above a sense of humor, though. In fact, when she's not facing someone who's outright pushing her buttons, she can actually be pretty well natured. She'll make jokes and tease, but it's all a form of affection. To be honest, she's probably going to take well to you as long as you're yourself. She can appreciate a bot (or human) who knows who they are and aren't afraid to show it. In fact, thats one reason she likes the company she's in. Even better if you can tease back, because she works well with that. It's something like a game, to her, and a game she knows how to play. If you can play it just as well, she might start to become affectionate towards you, familial or otherwise.

While she may not be the most intelligent of the bots that exist on Cybertron, she's certainly to the point. She won't muddle with the details on something--if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck...well, it's close enough for her. It can be a pro and a con for her. She knows never to go too far if it would be something out of line. She, like most Autobots (keyword: most) have their limits. And she's able to hold herself back from knocking Starscream's lights out...that's award winning behavior righ there. But on the other hand...those reflexes are quick, man.

The one thing that Chromia can't really handle? Feelings. She has them, definitely! It's just she has a hard time really expressing them. It might be because of her duty, and that she can't let emotions sway her from that. This makes her almost a polar opposite of Windblade, who seems to react more on compassion and emotion than Chromia's cut and dry style of life. She tries though, and it isn't done intentionally. It's just because she's been hardened by the years, and may have lost some of that optimism that some of her sisters-in-arms might still possess. She also has a tendency to act like that little girl or boy who always picks on you when you're a kid because she likes you. Yeah, she's a five-year-old just like the rest of the robots at heart.

Her relation to the Autobots and Cybertronians in general is overall positive. As far as fitting in goes from a personality point of view, she seems to fit in just fine. No one really makes a fuss about it or considers her less Cybertronian. Overall, it's been pretty seamless. She also seems to make the same opinions as the rest of the Autobots on a lot of things. The main one being their point of view on Starscream. While she's not exactly the cuddliest bot you'll ever lay eyes on, she seems to hit it off quite well with the company around her. Autobot or Decepticon, depending on individual personality. ...She might be extremely biased to the former, naturally.

As a side note, she's very, VERY new to the concept of humans, or anything not dealing with Cybertronians.

Character Abilities:
--Chromia, like most Cybertronians, has the ability to transform into a vehicle. Each vehicle mode for a Cybertronian is different, Chromia’s being what looks like an armored police bike. It’s mainly used for transportation and doesn’t carry any weaponry (that’s been shown), so it’s usually just getting to and from places. There looks to be a place that can hold a passenger or two as well.

--As a bodyguard, Chromia possesses a lot of talent in hand to hand combat. While she can make do with her fists and legs (whatever’s really given to her), her weapons of choice are a police-riot shield and a poleaxe that seems to be made from Energon itself. She’s no slouch in a fight, definitely.

--It may come from (as stated above) being a bodyguard, but she has really quick reflexes. She has a tendency to react faster than some other Cybertronians. It’s just her training, really!

Character Inventory:
--Riot Shield - Chromia’s main source of defense. It extends to most of her body, being able to hide at least one other person behind her. It’ll probably never see use, but she always keeps it on hand! It has the ability to retract into something she can keep in her personal storage, so it’s very lightweight.

--Poleaxe - Chromia’s main source of offense. This is also kept in personal storage, starting out as a small handle and extending out and into a poleaxe with an energon beam edge. Also will probably never see use, but it’s on her person so it counts!

Third Person Sample:
Chromia's not really one to look inside herself for answers. To her, there's a mission, there's a way to complete the mission, and then you just do it. It works really well for being a bodyguard--you're tasked to guard someone, and that's all there is to it. That stuff she can understand. It's just when things get more complex that it confuses here. And nothing was more confusing than what she could call 'home'.

Looking at it from her perspective, 'home' was simple. Caminus was where she hailed from, and up until now, that's where she lived. That was an easy enough answer. But Cybertron made her feel different. Caminus had once been a part of Cybertron, so if you looked at it from a deeper perspective, Cybertron was also a 'home'.

But it had a different feeling.

And nothing proved this more as Chromia began to scale up some of the rockier outskirts of Metroplex. A bunch of rubble that was once Iacon. Call it an exercise to get her mind off of those thoughts, but it certainly wasn't helping. Despite having the clear, defined mission, something was missing from her. Something that nothing on Cybertron could fill.
At least, so she thought.

Coming to a plateau just before the wreckage turned into wasteland, she stood there, feeling Cybertron's sun warm her plating right down to the Energon running through her pipelines. It seemed to wash that deeply hidden feeling of being displaced. Because in the end, it didn't matter if Cybertronians were on their home planet or roaming the galaxy. They all felt the same warmth at one point--of the sun coming over the horizon, bouncing off their plating.

Maybe she didn't need to feel like the outcast here. After all...she was a Cybertronian, right? Maybe this could be considered 'home'. After all, they were known for their ability to change.

Under one constant sun.
